Despite the heavy rains all over Bicol Region, NIA Region V, under the leadership of Engr. Roberto J. Dela Cruz successfully conducted the USHERING 2023 with the theme: “NIA para sa Progresibong Pilipinas” on January 09, 2023, carried out simultaneously in all NIA offices nationwide.
This year’s celebration highlighted the acknowledgment of the agency’s contribution and impact on every NIA personnel's life through the NIA Gratitude Wall expressed through different colors with corresponding meanings: Blue for salary and benefits; Red for love and romance; yellow for friendships and connections; green for opportunities and experiences; and orange for honor and recognition.
For Director Dela Cruz, the occasion was simple but nevertheless, meaningful both for the employees and the agency. “Tayo lang po ang gumaganap sa ating ahensya… Kaya ang NIA, very grateful sa ating mga empleyado at ganun din po tayo sa NIA.”
In his speech, he reiterated the #bayaNIAn which will serve as the agency’s mantra inspired by the word, “bayanihan” and “NIA”.
Most of the employees shared how blessed they are to be part of the agency and how over the years their employment served as their family’s bread and butter which inspired them to work harder in synch with the agency's targets and goals.
It can be recalled in the news published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer last October 2022 that the National Irrigation Administration is included in the inaugural list of the Philippines’ Best Employers 2023.
The gratitude wall shall be called “Agyamanak Iti Padanum”, an Ilocano sentence that translates to “Thank you, Irrigation” displayed on NIA Region V’s covered path walk as a reminder of reciprocated gratitude.
